  2. 1/2 cup Granulated sugar

  3. 1/2 cup Packed brown sugar

  4. 1/4 cup Margarine or butter -- softened

  5. 1/4 cup Shortening

  6. 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda

  7. 1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon

  8. 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla

  9. 1/4 teaspoon Baking powder

  10. 1 Egg

  11. 1 1/2 cups Quick-cooking oats

  12. 1 cup All-purpose flour*

  13. 1 cup Raisins or chopped nuts -- If desired

  1. *if using self rising flour omit Baking soda, baking powder and Salt.

  2. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients except oats, flour and raisins. Stir in oats, flour and raisins. Press dough in ungreased square pan, 8 X 8 X 2 inches. Bake about 25 minutes or until light brown. Cut into about 2-inch squares while warm.
