  1. Recipe ingredients:

  2. 200 g. gram flour

  3. 1 cup curd, yogurt

  4. 1 tablespoon green chili, chopped

  5. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  6. 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

  7. 1 tablespoon chopped ginger

  8. 1 teaspoon soda bicarb

  9. 1 tablespoon green coriander, chopped

  10. 1/2 cup fresh grated coconut

  11. 1 lemon

  12. 2 tablespoons oil

  13. Salt to taste

  14. Recipe method:

  15. Take gram flour in a bowl.

  16. Add beaten Yogurt and warm water.

  17. Whisk well to remove all lumps.

  18. The mixture should have a thick consistency.

  19. 3 to 4 hours.

  20. Make a paste of ginger and green chilies.

  21. Add this paste to the fermented mixture.

  22. Add turmeric powder and correct seasoning.

  23. Keep the steamer ready on the flame.

  24. Grease a dhokla mold or a shallow cake tin with a little oil.

  25. 1 teaspoon oil and juice of

  26. 1 lemon.

  27. Mix well and add this to the gram flour mixture.

  28. 12 to 14 minutes.

  29. Cool for sometime.

  30. Cut into squares and arrange in a serving platter/bowl.

  31. Heat oil in a small pan.

  32. Add mustard seeds.

  33. When the seeds begin to crackle, remove and pour over the dhoklas.

  34. Serve garnished with chopped green coriander leaves and grated coconut.
