    2. 1/2 cup of ready-to-eat cereal such as Egg-O-See or Granose flakes

    3. 1/4 cup of sweet milk

    4. 1/2 cup of sifted flour

    5. 1 level teaspoon of baking powder

    6. 1/2 cup of thick sour cream

    7. 1/8 teaspoon of soda

    8. White of 1 egg

    9. Yolk of 1 egg, beaten

    10. Slice of salt pork, to oil the griddle

    11. 1/4 teaspoon of salt

    1. Instructions Mash and sift the soda before measuring, then stir it in into the cream.

    2. Sift the flour with the baking powder.

    3. Pour the cream over the cereal and add the yolk, salt, sweet milk, and the sifted flour.

    4. Mix all together thoroughly, then beat in the lightly beaten egg white.

    5. Place small cakes of batter on a hot, greased griddle or an iron frying pan.

    6. Brown on both sides.
