  1. 6 cups 1422ml Cabbage - chop

  2. 1 cup 110g / 3.9oz Carrots - shred fine

  3. 1/4 cup 49g / 1.7oz Sugar

  4. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Pepper

  6. 1/2 cup 118ml Milk

  7. 1 cup 237ml Mayo

  8. 1/2 cup 118ml Buttermilk

  9. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Celery seed

  10. 3 Hot pepper sauce

  11. 3 tablespoons 45ml Dry minced onion

  1. Toss cabbage lightly with sugar, carrots, salt and pepper. Drench all with milk. cover and refrigerate for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile combine the mayo, buttermilk, celery seed pepper sauce and onion.

  2. Mix well with cabbage. Refrigerate again at least 1 hour. Before serving drain some of the liquid. This settles quite a bit. Keeps for 24 hours.
