  1. 1 1/2 cups 93g / 3 1/3oz Unbleached all-purpose flour

  2. 1 cup 198g / 7oz Sugar

  3. 3 tablespoons 45ml Unsweetened cocoa

  4. 1 teaspoon 5ml Baking soda

  5. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  6. 1 teaspoon 5ml Instant coffee or espresso

  7. 1 teaspoon 5ml Black pepper - (to 2 tsp)

  8. 6 tablespoons 90ml Oil

  9. 1 tablespoon 15ml Vinegar

  10. 1 teaspoon 5ml Vanilla

  11. 1 cup 237ml Cold water or strong coffee

  1. Recipe Instructions Pre-heat oven to 350F. Then, in a 9"x9" cake pan, measure and blend thoroughly with a fork the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, instant coffee powder, and salt. Next, make 3 indentations in the dry ingredients with your fork. Into the first, pour 6 tbs of oil. Into the second, pour 1 tbs. vinegar. Into the third, pour 1 tsp. vanilla. Then, over all ingredients, pour 1 cup of cold water or strong, cold coffee. Stir with a fork until evenly blended. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve alone, with whipped cream, ice cream, or your favorite frosting.
