  2. In a blender, grind to a powder:

  3. 1 cup roasted dry chickpeas

  4. In a small saucepan, make a sugar syrup by combining:

  5. 2/3 cup sugar

  6. 1/2 cup water

  7. 226 degrees on a candy thermometer

  8. Working quickly, immediately take off the heat, add, and mix well:

  9. the powdered roasted chickpeas

  10. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder

  11. Add quickly and mix well:

  12. 1 TBS ghee

  13. 7 circle about 1/4 thick on a greased, flat pan,. Sprinkle with:

  14. 1 TBS white Indian poppy seeds*

  15. 1 TBS unsweetened coconut

  16. Let cool; cut into 1 1/2 diamonds and serve. Sometimes this comes out crumbly, but it will still taste delicious.

  17. *Can be omitted - do not substitute black poppy seeds.
