  7. 2 lg Cucumbers, peeled, halved

  14. 1/2 c Water

  15. 5 tb White vinegar

  16. 1/2 ts Salt

  17. Here's an excellent side dish to go with Satay,

  18. grilled fowl or meats, fish--just about anything you

  19. can imagine.

  20. Sweet and Sour Cucumber Relish (Taeng Kwa Brio Wan)

  21. Toss the cucumber, onion and chili flakes together in

  22. a bowl. In a small saucepan, over low heat, dissolve

  23. the sugar in the water. Remove from heat and stir in

  24. the vinegar and salt. Pour this mixture over the

  25. veggies. Stir and refrigerate until served.

  28. This a is quick 'n' easy dish that's refreshing--good

  29. for a barbecue on a hot summer day. Some of the

  30. sucessful variations that I've tried have been: Rice

  31. vinegar for white, add thinly sliced red or green hot

  32. chilis, use palm sugar instead of granulated.
