  1. 1/2 cups milk

  2. 2 egg s, beaten

  3. 2 cups all purpose flour

  4. 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

  5. 1 teaspoon baking powder

  6. Vegetable oil , for frying

  7. Powdered sugar , for topping

  1. Preheat oil in a large open fry pan. In a small mixing bowl combine eggs and milk. In a larger mixing bowl combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until well mixed. Add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stir until smooth. At this point check the oil temperature, it should be heated to 360°.Put dough in a piping bag fitted with a number 12 tip. Pipe dough into oil, making a free-form lattice pattern; cook until browned, flipping once. Remove cake from oil, drain on paper towels, and top with powdered sugar. Continue until all of the batter is used.
