Chocolate Chip and Pecan Cookies

    1. 2 1/2 c Flour

    2. 1 ts Salt

    3. 1 ts Baking soda

    4. 1/2 c Granulated sugar

    5. 1 c Brown sugar; packed

    6. 1 c Shortening

    7. 2 Eggs

    8. 2 ts Vanilla

    9. 12 oz Semi-sweet chocolate morsels

    10. 1 c Chopped pecans

    1. Preheat oven to 375. In small bowl, combine flour, unsifted, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a second bowl, combine shortening, white and brown sugar, vanilla and eggs. Mix until creamy. Add flour mixture and blend. Stir in chocolate morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. --
