  2. Insert skewer in stem end of each apple.

  3. Heat water and caramels over low heat, stirring occasionally, until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth.

  4. Keep mixture over very low heat.

  5. Dip each apple into caramel mixture, spooning mixture over apple until completely coated.

  6. Place on waxed paper.

  7. Refrigerate until coating is firm.
