  2. SPICY GARLIC FISH FRY

  6. 1 1/2 lb White fish fillets

  7. -whiting, cod, monkfish)

  8. Salt to taste

  9. 1 t Ground cumin

  10. Vegetable oil for -deep-frying

  11. 1/2 ts Ground coriander

  12. 3 Garlic cloves, crushed

  13. 1 t Ground anise seeds

  14. 1/2 ts Chile powder

  15. 1 tb Lemon juice

  16. Lettuce leaves

  17. Sliced radishes

  18. Remove any skin and bones from fish, rinse and pat dry

  19. with paper towels. Cut into large chunks.

  20. Mix together cumin, coriander, ground anise, chile

  21. powder, garlic, lemon juice and salt, blending to a

  22. smooth paste. Spread over fish, cover and refrigerate

  23. 1 hour.

  24. Half-fill a deep pan or deep-fryer with oil and heat

  25. 350 F. (175C) or until a 1-inch bread cube browns

  26. 50 seconds. Cook fish, a few pieces at a time,

  27. 2 to

  28. 3 minutes, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

  29. Serve hot, garnished with lettuce and radish slices.
