  1. 1-1/2 lbs asparagus spears, trimmed

  2. 2 tbsp butter, softened

  3. 1 clove garlic, minced

  4. 1/2 tsp grated lemon zest

  5. 2 mL

  6. 1/4 tsp pepper

  7. 1 mL

  8. pinch salt

  9. 1 cup coarse fresh bread crumbs

  10. 1 cup shredded Canadian Swiss, old cheddar, or Gouda cheese

  11. 250 mL

  12. 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

  13. 30 mL

  14. Instructions :

  15. Preheat oven to 425F (220C). Spread asparagus evenly in a 13 x 9-inch (3 L) glass baking dish.
