  2. RICE WITH CABBAGE

  8. 2 lg Flavor cubes -- your choice

  9. of flavor 1 md Head cabbage

  10. 1 1/2 cup Uncle Ben

  11. 3 tablespoon Butter

  12. 6 cups water -- (6 to 8)

  13. 3 tablespoon Olive oil

  14. Salt and pepper to taste

  15. 4 ounce Tomato sauce (canned)

  16. Grated cheese for topping

  17. 2 Cloves garlic chopped

  18. In a large pot, melt the butter in the oil and lightly saute garlic. Chop the

  19. 1 wide

  20. 3 long. Put all cabbage in with the

  21. garlic. Mix well to coat cabbage. Put 1/2 cup water in with cabbage and partially cover. Cook until cabbage is tender and lightly browned in spots.

  22. Next add tomato sauce and mix well. Add rice and mix well again. In a separate

  23. pot have the water and cubes on a med heat with cubes disolved.

  24. Gradually add this liquid while rice is cooking. Add a ladel at a time and wait

  25. for it to be absorbed. Continue until rice is cooked. Make sure to mix often to

  26. stop from sticking. Season with salt and pepper and serve hot with grated

  27. cheese. This can be used as a main dish, first course or as a side dish. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
