  1. 1 c All-purpose flour

  2. 1 ts Baking soda

  3. 1/8 ts Salt

  4. 1/2 c Firmly packed brown sugar

  5. 1/4 c Sugar

  6. 1 c Smooth peanut butter

  7. 1/2 c Butter; softened

  8. 1 lg Egg

  9. 1/2 ts Vanilla extract

  10. 1 hour. Preheat oven to

  11. 375F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on unbuttered cookie sheets

  12. 1 1/2 inches apart. Use handle of wooden spoon to make deep indentation in center of each ball. Bake

  13. 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned and set. Cool on cookie sheets until firm enough to lift. Transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Fill centers with cherry preserves or glace cherries. --
