  1. 2 cups 320g / 11oz Basmati rice uncooked

  2. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Diced dried apples

  3. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Diced dried apricots

  4. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Dried dates chopped

  5. 1/2 cup 80g / 2.8oz Raisins

  6. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Prunes pitted and chopped

  7. 1/2 cup 46g / 1.6oz Slivered almonds

  8. 1 cup 237ml Mushrooms fresh sliced

  9. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  10. 1 teaspoon 5ml Cinnamon ground

  11. Water as needed for rice

  1. Put water into a large pot and bring to a boil. Add rice, stir, and reduce heat. Add the fruits & salt. cook for 15 minutes on Medium heat. Add remaining ingredients, stir, cover and continue for balance of cooking time. Stir as needed. Note: This dish may be served as a meatless main dish or as a side dish for poultry, fish, or beef. It is especially good with veal.
