  1. 1/2c Onion slices

  2. 2 tb Olive oil

  3. 1 lb Ground beef

  4. 2 Garlic cloves; minced

  5. 2 lb Canned tomatoes;

  6. 4 cups 16 oz Canned tomato sauce;

  7. 2 cups 3 oz Canned mushrooms;

  8. 2/3 cup 1/4c Parsley

  9. 1 1/2ts Oregano

  10. 1 ts Salt

  11. 1/4ts Thyme

  12. 1 Bay leaf

  13. 1 c Water

  1. + Directions : In large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender. Add meat and garlic; brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or till sauce is thick; stir occasionally. Remove bay leaf. Serve over hot spaghetti. Garnish with Parmesan cheese, if desired. NOTE: One pound of spaghetti will serve 4 to 6 as a main dish with sauce.
