  1. 2 tablespoons 30ml Sugar

  2. 1 cup 237ml Dry red wine

  3. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Grated lemon rind

  4. 1/2 cup 118ml Water

  5. 2 teaspoons 10ml Cornstarch

  6. (or arrowroot powder)

  7. 4 teaspoons 20ml Water

  8. 2 cups 474ml Sliced plums

  9. 1 cup 237ml Fresh sliced figs

  1. Combine the sugar, wine, lemon rind, and 1/2 cup water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

  2. Combine the cornstarch or arrowroot powder with the 4 teaspoons water. Add to the syrup. Cook for 2 minutes until thickened.

  3. Pour the syrup over the plums and figs and refrigerate for several hours before serving.

  4. This recipe yields 6 servings. Serving size: 1/2 cup.
