    1. 4 large tart baking apple s (Granny Smith)

    2. 1 recipe plain pastry

    3. 1 cup sugar - divided

    4. 1 tsp cinnamon

    5. 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

    6. 1/3 cup butter

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Peel and slice apples and place in the recipe plain pastry. Combine ½ cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon the sprinkle over the apples. Sift together the remaining ½ cup sugar and flour then cut in the butter and sprinkle over the apples. Place pie on a cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
