  1. 4-6 chicken leg quarters and/or breasts

  2. salt

  3. pepper

  4. 1-2 tsp chicken soup base

  5. 1 pkg refrigerated flour tortillas cut into 1 X 1 

  6. 1/2 inch strips

  7. 1-2 cans chicken broth as needed

  1. Place chicken in crockpot. Season well with about 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper. Add water to fill crockpot 2/3 full. Cover and cook 8 hours. Remove chicken and cool slightly. Remove skin and bones, cut chicken into bite size pieces.

  2. Place chicken broth in large saucepan. Add 1-2 tsp chicken soup base and stir well. If additional liquid is needed, you may add 1 or 2 cans chicken broth. Add chicken and bring to boil. Drop tortilla strips into boiling broth, stirring to separate. Boil 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
