  6. 2 lb Beef shanks

  7. 2 cn Tomato sauce (small)

  8. 2 ts Sugar

  9. 1/4 ts Pepper

  10. 1 Med. onion, choppped

  11. 1 Wedge cabbage,

  12. 1"thick,chop

  13. 1 lb Cut green beans

  14. 2 qt Water

  15. 2 Beef bouillon cubes

  16. 1 t Salt

  17. 2 Whole cloves

  18. 3 Turnips, pared and diced OR>

  19. 1 Rutabaga,small

  20. 1 c Uncooked elbow macaroni

  21. In dutch oven or kettle, combine beef, water,

  22. onion, tomato sauce, cabbage, bouillon cubes, sugar,

  23. salt, pepper and cloves. Bring to boil, simmer

  24. covered for 2 hrs. Add turnips, macaroni and beans.

  25. Simmer uncovered for 20 or 30 minutes more, or until
