  1. 2 c Cranberries; Fresh Or Frozen

  2. 1 c Milk

  3. 1 ea Egg; Lg, Slightly Beaten

  4. 1/4c Butter; Melted

  5. 1 tb Orange Peel; Grated

  6. 2 c Unbleached Flour

  7. 1 c Sugar

  8. 1 tb Baking Powder

  9. 1/2ts Salt

  10. 1 1/2c Cheddar; Md, Shredded

  11. 1/2c Walnuts; Coarsely Chopped

  1. + Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. then grease a 9 X 5-inch loaf pan; set aside.

  3. Cut the cranberries in half and set aside in a small bowl.

  4. In a medium bowl, combine the milk, egg, butter, and orange peel and set aside.

  5. Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl.

  6. Add the halved cranberries, cheese and nuts.

  7. Toss with a fork to distribute.

  8. Add the milk mixture all at once and stir the flour mixture until just moistened.

  9. Turn into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  10. Cool in the pan on a rack for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.

  11. Cool to room temperature on the wire rack before slicing.
