  1. 1 cup any leftover dal

  2. 1/2 cup each of wheat flour, rice flour, gram flour

  3. 1-2 garlic flakes, finely chopped

  4. 2 green chilies

  5. Oil for frying

  6. Salt to taste

  7. A pinch of turmeric & asafoetida

  1. Add all the ingredients with 1 tsp of oil.

  2. For deep frying, roll into small puris and deep fry in oil.

  3. For shallow frying, add water if necessary so as to make the mixture like pancakes.

  4. Put a little oil on tawa or griddle and pour 3-4 tbsp of the above mixture and expand with the spoon.

  5. Fry on both sides by keeping little oil in the edges.

  6. Serve with any chutney
