  7. 1 1/2 Pounds ground pork

  8. 1/2 Pound ground beef

  9. 2 lg Onions, finely chopped

  10. 6 Green onions, chopped

  11. 1 tb Chopped fresh parsley

  12. 1 ts Salt

  13. 1/4 ts Rubbed sage

  14. 1/8 ts Garlic powder

  15. 1/8 ts Pepper

  16. Dash of red pepper

  17. Meat pie pastry

  21. a large Dutch oven; cook over medium heat, stirring

  22. constantly, until roux is caramel colored. Add pork,

  23. beef, onion, parsley, and seasonings. Cook over medium

  24. heat until meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain

  25. and cool.Divide Meat Pie Pastry into 22 equal

  26. portions. Roll out each portion into a 5-inch circle.

  27. Place about 2 tablespoons meat mixture in center of

  28. each circle, and fold pastry in half. Moisten edges

  29. with water, and press with a fork to seal.Fry pies in

  30. 1 inch hot oil (375 degrees) until browned, turning

  31. once. Drain on paper towels. Yield: 22 pies.Recipe
