  1. 1 pkg yeast

  2. 3 c flour

  3. 1/2 t salt

  4. 2 T sugar

  5. 1 T butter

  6. 1 can (16 1/2 oz) blueberries, well drained, reserve liquid

  7. 1/4 c retained juice

  8. 1/4 c water (berries, juice and water should equal 1 1/3 c)

  9. Prepare and bake as usual. Makes 2 loaves.

  10. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c warm water. Melt shortening. Beat eggs (if any) and add the liquids, fruit (if any) and melted shortening. Add salt, sugar, spices/herbs to part of the flour, and add that to the mixture. Add nuts (if any), and then gradually add the remaining flour. When the

  11. dough is too stiff to stir or mix with mixer, turn it out

  12. onto floured board and knead by hand. Place in greased bowl, cover with clean cloth, and let rise until doubled.

  13. Turn out, punch down, and knead a few times, then cut dough

  14. into the number of loaves it will bake, and place the formed dough into greased bread pans, cover with cloth, and 350 F. for 30 minutes or so until done.
