  1. 4 cups 250g / 8.8oz White flour

  2. 1 teaspoon 5ml Baking soda

  3. 1 teaspoon 5ml Baking powder

  4. 1 cup 237ml Milk

  5. 6 tablespoons 90ml Yogurt

  6. 1 tablespoon 15ml Oil

  7. 1 Egg - beaten

  8. Salt - to taste

  9. 3 tablespoons 45ml Ghee or butter - melted

  10. 1 tablespoon 15ml Black sesame seeds - (nigella seeds)

  1. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a bowl.

  2. Stir in egg, yogurt and 2 tablespoons of the butter. Gradually stir in enough milk to make a soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and place in a warm place for 2 hours.

  3. Preheat oven to 400F.

  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for 2 or 3 minutes until smooth.

  5. Divide into 8 pieces Roll each piece into a ball then into ovals about 6 inches long.

  6. Grease a baking sheet and brush the underside of the bread with water. Brush the other side with butter and sprinkle with sesame or nigella seeds.

  7. Bake 6 to 10 minutes until puffy and light golden brown.
