  1. cup sugar

  2. 1/3 cup flour

  3. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  4. 3 cups milk

  5. 3 egg s yolks, slightly beaten

  6. 1 tablespoon butter

  7. 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

  8. 1 can Angel Flake coconut

  9. 1 9" baked pie shell Meringue

  10. 3 egg whites (use 4 for higher meringue)

  11. 6 tablespoons sugar

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in saucepan. Gradually add milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Boil one minute. Remove from heat. Add half mixture gradually to egg yolks, then add this mixture to hot mixture and boil one more minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add butter, vanilla, and coconut. Cool. Put in pie shell. Cover with meringue. Bake at 400 degrees until brown.
