  1. 1 1/2 lbs 681g / 24oz Ground beef

  2. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Cumin seeds

  3. 1 teaspoon 5ml Onion - finely chopped (large)

  4. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Ground coriander

  5. 1 1/2 cups 355ml Tomato juice

  6. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Garam masala*

  7. 1 cup 237ml Peas - thawed

  8. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Cayenne pepper

  9. 1 1/2 teaspoons 7 1/2ml Salt Freshly cooked rice

  10. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Ground cumin

  1. Recipe Instructions Cook beef and onion in heavy large skillet over medium heat until met is no longer pink, crumbling with fork, about 10 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients, except rice. Cover and cook 15 minutes. Serve with rice. GARAM MASALA - An Indian spice mixture available at Indian or specialty markets. Make your own Garam Masala: mix 3/4 tsp ground cumin with 3/4 tsp ground coriander, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp ground cardamom, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, and 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon. Use 1/2 tsp of spice mixture for this recipe.
