  1. 1 cup lentils, sorted and rinsed

  2. 2 cups water

  3. 2 onions, chopped

  4. 3 carrots, chopped

  5. 4 stalks celery, chopped

  6. 3/4 cup ketchup

  7. 3 Tbsp. brown sugar

  8. 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar

  9. 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard

  10. 1 tsp. dried marjoram leaves

  11. 10 kaiser rolls, split and toasted

  1. Sort over lentils and combine with water in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Place in 3-4 quart crockpot with remaining ingredients except for vinegar, mustard, and kaiser rolls. Cover and cook for 8-12 hours until thickened. Stir in vinegar and mustard just before serving. Make sandwiches using toasted buns. If you have a newer hotter cooking crockpot, check the lentils at 6 or 7 hours.
