  1. 1 cup rice - uncooked

  2. Dash of turmeric

  3. For the Black Beans:

  4. 29 oz. can of black beans - drained and rinsed

  5. 2 jalapeño's - sliced

  6. 4 cloves garlic - chopped

  7. 1/2 cup red wine - plus

  8. 1 tablespoon sugar

  9. 1 medium onion - sliced

  10. Healthy handful of cilantro - chopped

  11. Dashes of ground cumin

  12. Dashes of red pepper flakes

  13. Dashes of salt

  14. Dashes of fresh ground black pepper

  1. Prepare as directed with a dash of turmeric in the water.

  2. Heat a large frying pan with a drizzle of olive oil and add the garlic, jalapeño and onions. Sauté until the onion is slightly soft; add the black beans and the wine and toss. Add all of the spices and the fresh cilantro and toss.
