  1. 1 large slice smoked ham (about 8oz.) with some fat attached

  2. 1/4 cup cold water

  3. 1 tbsp strong coffee

  1. Fry the ham slice in a heavy frying pan over low heat. Turn it to brown both sides. Put it on a serving platter and cover with tinfoil to keep warm.

  2. Pour off the grease in the frying pan. Some drippings will be stuck to the bottom. Pour the cold water and coffee over them. Bring to a boil.

  3. Turn off the heat immediatly. Remove the tinfoil and pour the gravy over the ham slice. Serve at once.
