  1. 1 cup(s) (8 ounces) orzo pasta

  2. 3 tablespoon(s) olive oil

  3. 1 clove(s) garlic , sliced

  4. 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) lemon zest

  5. 2 tablespoon(s) lemon juice

  6. 3 tablespoon(s) minced parsley

  7. 1/4 cup(s) grated Parmesan cheese

  8. 1/4 cup(s) slivered, pitted kalamata olives

  9. 1/4 cup(s) sliced scallions

  10. Freshly ground black pepper , to taste

  1. Boil orzo pasta until al dente; drain.

  2. In a nonstick skillet, heat olive oil and garlic over low heat until garlic is lightly golden, about 2 minutes. Raise heat to medium and stir in orzo, lemon zest, lemon juice, and parsley. Cook, stirring, until pasta is hot.

  3. Remove from heat; stir in Parmesan cheese, kalamata olives, and scallions. Add freshly ground black pepper to taste.
