  1. 1 cup white vinegar

  2. 3 tablespoons sugar

  3. 2 tablespoons salt

  4. 1 cup water

  5. 1/2 cup canola oil

  6. 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning

  7. 1 tablespoon pepper

  8. 1 broiler/fryer chicken (3 to 3-1/2 pounds), cut up

  1. Basic Chicken Barbecue Recipe photo by Taste of Home In a small bowl, whisk the vinegar, sugar and salt. Whisk in the water, oil, poultry seasoning and pepper. Reserve 1/2 cup for basting; cover and refrigerate. Pour remaining marinade into a large resealable plastic bag; add the chicken. Seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.

  2. Drain chicken and discard marinade. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 35-45 minutes or until juices run clear, turning and basting occasionally with reserved marinade. Yield: 4 servings.
