  1. 2 TABLESPOONS olive oil

  2. 250g (10oz) bacon

  3. 1 Kg (2lb) minced beef

  4. LARGE GLASS red wine

  5. 2-3 cloves garlic (SLICED)

  6. 500g (1lb) CHOPPED onions

  7. mushrooms (ACCORDING TO TASTE)

  8. 400g (10oz) TIN OF plum tomatoes

  9. 700g (20oz) JAR passata

  10. 250ml (8fl oz) beef stock

  11. A BUNDLE OF fresh herbs

  12. salt & black pepper (according to taste)

  13. DRIED spaghetti

  14. parmesan cheese

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan.

  2. Over a medium heat fry the onions, mushrooms bacon & garlic for approx 5 mins.

  3. Add Minced Beef & brown off.

  4. Add red wine & cook for about a minute.

  5. Add stock, tomatoes, passata, herbs, salt & pepper Bring to the boil & then turn heat down low & simmer uncovered until thick & rich (approximately 1 hour-1.5 hours).

  6. Serve with spaghetti & top with grated Parmesan.
