  1. 1 1/2 Cups sugar

  2. 3/4 Cup light corn syrup

  3. 1 1/4 Cups raw peanuts

  4. 3 Tablespoons butter or margarine

  5. 1 Teaspoon baking soda

  1. Preparation : Combine sugar and syrup in large saucepan. Cook over med-low heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Cover and cook over medium heat 2 to 3 minutes to wash down sugar crystals from sides of pan. Add peanuts; cook, stirring occasionally, to hard crack stage (300 degrees on candy thermometer). Remove from heat; stir in butter and baking soda. Pour onto buttered baking sheet, spreading thinly. Cool; break into pieces. Store in airtight container.
