  1. 1 cup chopped onion

  2. 1 cup chopped green bell peppers

  3. 1/4 cup butter or margarine

  4. 1/2 cup flour

  5. 2 cups milk

  6. 2 cups chicken broth

  7. 1/4 cup dry sherry or other dry white wine

  8. 2 cups coarsely chopped turkey

  9. 2 cups coarsely chopped cooked ham

  10. 1 8-ounce can water chestnuts, drained and sliced

  11. 1 4-ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained

  12. 1/2 cup diced pimientos

  13. salt and ground black pepper to taste

  14. 6 to 8 cups hot cooked rice

  1. Directions Cook onion and peppers in butter until tender; blend in flour.

  2. Add milk, broth and sherry; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.

  3. Stir in turkey, ham, water chestnuts, mushrooms and pimientos; add salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Heat thoroughly.

  5. Serve over fluffy rice.
