  1. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Extra-lean ground beef

  2. 10 Garlic - minced

  3. 2 Scallions - minced

  4. 1 teaspoon 5ml Fresh ginger - minced

  5. 1 tablespoon 15ml Low-sodium soy sauce

  6. 4 Fresh pineapple - or Water-packed - unsweetened pineapple

  7. 1 teaspoon 5ml Worcestershire sauce

  8. 4 French bread

  1. Recipe Instructions Mix the beef, garlic, scallions, ginger, and soy sauce together and form in 4 patties of equal size about 3/4" thick. Grill or broil 4" from source of heat, for 7 minutes for medium-rare turning once. While burgers are grilling, brush 4 slices of fresh or canned water-packed unsweetened pineapple with 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce. Grill until pineapple is heated through and seared with grill marks, about 6 minutes (2 minutes for canned pineapple). Serve each patty open-face in a 1 oz toasted slice of French bread, topped with grilled slice, and garnished with 1 tbs minced green bell pepper.
