  6. 3 1/2 c Sugar

  7. 1 c Light corn syrup

  8. 1 c Water

  9. 1/4 ts To

  10. 1/2 tspn cinnamon or Peppermint oil

  11. 1 ts Red or green food coloring

  12. In a lg. heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook on

  13. med-high heat until candy thermometer reads 300

  14. (hard crack stage),

  15. stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat; stir in oil and food coloring,

  16. keeping face away from mixture as odor is very strong. Immediately pour

  17. onto an oiled cookie sheet. Cool; break into pieces. Store in airtight

  18. containers. Note - cinnamon and peppermint oils are available in cake

  19. decorating and candy supply stores.
