  1. 1/2 cup flour

  2. 1 teaspoon garlic salt

  3. 3/4 teaspoon pepper

  4. 1/4 teaspoon celery salt

  5. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  6. 4 medium potatoes , unpeeled but scrubbed

  7. 1 egg , beaten

  8. vegetable oil (for frying)

  9. ranch dressing or sour cream , optional

  1. Mix flour and spices in shallow dish.

  2. Cut potatoes into 1/2-inch thick wedges.

  3. Dip potato slices into the beaten egg, then into flour mixture.

  4. Deep fry in hot oil (about 375º) until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes.

  5. Serve with dressing or sour cream.
