  1. Southern Fried Corn

  2. 6 ears corn

  3. 1/4 cup bacon drippings

  4. 2 tablespoons flour

  5. 1 tablespoon sugar

  6. 1 cup water

  7. 1/4 cup milk

  8. salt and pepper to taste

  9. Shuck corn. Wash and remove silk. Cut corn cobs in half. Then cut kernels off. (This is called cream-style cutting.) Scrape juice

  10. out of corn cob into the corn. Heat dripping in large skillet. Add

  11. corn, flour, sugar, water, milk, salt and pepper. Bring mixture to

  12. boil, stirring constantly. Cover; reduce heat and simmer until

  13. 20 to 25 minutes. If necessary, add a little

  14. hot water.
