  1. Crust:

  2. 2 1/2 cups flour

  3. 1 cup shortening

  4. 2 T sugar

  5. 1 t salt

  6. 1 beaten egg yolk

  7. cup milk

  8. Filling:

  9. 1 can fruit pie filling

  10. OR 5-7 apple s

  11. 3/4 - 1 cup sugar

  12. 2T flour

  13. t salt

  14. 1t cinnamon

  15. 1/4 t nutmeg

  16. 2 T butter

  17. Glaze:

  18. 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar

  19. 2 t milk

  20. 1/4 t vanilla

  1. Mix crust ingredients to form dough. Roll out ½ dough to fit bottom of jelly roll pan. Spread with 1 can of fruit pie filling and dot with butter or use mix of thinly sliced apples, sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and then dot with butter. Cover with top crust and brush with beaten egg white. Seal edges with fingers.

  2. Bake at 375˚ for 35 minutes.

  3. After baking, mix glaze and spread over top.
