Applesauce Fudgies Recipe

    1. 2 Squares unsweetened -chocolate

    2. 1/2c Butter

    3. 1/2c Sweetened applesauce

    4. 2 Eggs, beaten

    5. 1 c Brown sugar, firmly packed

    6. 1 ts Vanilla

    7. 1 c Sifted flour

    8. 1/2ts Baking powder

    9. 1/4ts Baking soda

    10. 1/4ts Salt

    11. 1/2c Choped walnuts

    1. + Directions : Melt chcocolate and butter together. Mix applesauce, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients into applesauce mixture. Stir until blended; add chocolate and stir well. Pour into greased 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle with walnuts. Bake in 350F. oven for 30 minutes. Cut in 2 inch squares; cool in pan on racks. Makes 16.
