  1. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Boneless beef pot roast - up to

  2. 2 tablespoons 30ml Oil

  3. 4 Garlic - pressed

  4. 2 teaspoons 10ml Grated fresh ginger root

  5. Salt - to taste

  6. 1 Water - up to

  7. 3 tablespoons 45ml Soy sauce

  8. 3/4 cup 120g / 4 1/5oz Raw rice

  9. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Salt

  1. Brown beef in oil then rub with mixture of garlic and ginger. Salt lightly. Transfer to crock pot.

  2. Pour in water and soy sauce.

  3. Cover and cook on Low for 7-8 hours or on High for 2-3 hours and then on Low for 2 hours more.

  4. Remove 1 1/2 cups broth from pot. Place in saucepan with rice and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat.

  5. Cook until rice is done, 18-20 minutes.
