  1. 1/2 Cup Almonds -- sliced

  2. 3 Cups Bisquick. Baking Mix

  3. 2/3 Cup Sugar

  4. 1/4 Cup Shortening

  5. 1 Cup Milk

  6. 2 Teaspoons Vanilla

  7. 1/2 Teaspoon Almond Extract

  8. 2 Eggs

  9. 4 Semisweet Chocolate Square -- melted, cooled

  10. Chocolate Glaze -- if desired

  11. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

  12. Generously grease 9 cup bundt cake pan; coat with almonds.

  13. Beat remaining ingredients except glaze in large bowl, on low speed, scraping b owl constantly, 30 seconds.

  14. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 4 minutes.

  15. Pour into pan.

  16. 35 to 40 minutes; cool

  17. 5 minutes.

  18. Invert on wire rack or heatproof serving plate; remove pan.

  19. Cool cake completely.

  20. Spread top with Chocolate glaze (see glazes and icing receipe section), allowin g some to drizzle down side.
