  1. 1 tbsp. butter or margarine

  2. 2 pounds cooking apples such as Golden Delicious, peeled, cored, and sliced into wedges

  3. 3 tbsp. granulated sugar

  4. 1 teasp. vanilla

  5. 1/8 teasp. ground cinnamon

  6. 1 cup milk

  7. 2 eggs

  8. 2 egg whites

  9. 1/4 teasp. salt

  10. 1 cup flour

  12. 425 F. Melt butter in large "oven proof" skillet. Add apples,

  13. 2 tablespoons sugar; cook, stirring

  14. 15-20 minutes, until apples are tender and liquid has evaporated. Stir in vanilla and cinnamon. Remove from heat.

  15. Beat together milk, eggs, egg whites, remaining 1 tablespoon sugar and salt in bowl. Gradually whisk in flour until well blended and smooth. Poor batter over hot apples.
