  5. 4 1/2 c Flour, all-purpose

  6. 1 ts Baking powder

  7. 1 1/4 c Sugar

  8. 1/4 ts Nutmeg

  9. 1 c Fruit juice

  10. 1 ts Cinnamon

  11. 1 ts Salt

  12. 2 Egg

  13. Jelly

  14. Powdered sugar

  15. 1/4 c Vegetable oil

  18. Sift together flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  19. Beat together till smooth eggs, oil, and fruit juice (raspberry juice is

  20. great, apple juice will do). Add to the flour mixture and stir to make a

  21. soft dough. Form dough into flat cakes (about 3 dozen). Place 1/2 tsp. of

  22. jelly (again, raspberry is wonderful, but any jelly or jam can be used) in

  23. the center of each and roll dough to cover jelly, forming a ball. Deep-fry

  24. balls in hot (380F) oil for 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Dust with

  25. powdered sugar. --
