  10. 1 cup onion

  11. 1/4 teaspoon powdered saffron

  12. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  13. 1/2 teaspoon white pepper

  14. 1 cup long grain rice

  15. 1 pound tiger prawn

  16. 40 manilla clam

  1. Heat oil in a large straight-sided skillet or saute pan, over a moderate flame add chicken or meat and brown on all sides remove with a slotted spoon, set aside add bell peppers, heat and stir for 4-5 minutes, until tender remove with a slotted spoon and set aside add garlic, heat and stir for 4-5 minutes add tomato sauce reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often add clam juice, water, onions, and chicken raise flame to moderate bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring often raise flame to high add saffron, salt, pepper, peas, and rice simmer, without stirring, for 15 minutes add shrimp and clams heat and shake pan, without stirring, for 5-6 minutes, until clams open and shrimp are a bright pink remove from heat garnish with bell peppers and allow to stand for 10 minutes serve hot
