  1. 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

  2. 1/2 cup honey

  3. 1/3 cup chopped figs

  4. 2/3 cup butter or margarine

  5. 2 large eggs

  6. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  8. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  9. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  10. 2 tablespoons chopped figs

  11. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  12. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  13. 1 1/3 cups quick-cooking oats

  14. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  1. Preheat oven to 350 °F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet; set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed, beat brown sugar, honey, 1/3 cup figs and butter until creamy, 3 to 5 minutes. Add eggs and beat until well blended.

  3. In a separate bowl blend together baking soda, salt, cinnamon, vanilla, 2 tablespoons figs and nutmeg; add to the creamed mixture. Add flour, oats and walnuts; mix for 2 minutes on low speed, then 3 minutes on medium speed.

  4. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart onto prepared baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
