  8. Better than

  9. Gingerbread men!

  10. They are a lot of work to

  11. 1 c butter or margarine

  12. 2/3 c packed brown sugar

  13. 2/3 c dark corn

  14. 4 c flour

  15. 1 1/2 tsp ground

  16. 1 tsp ground ginger

  17. 1/4 tsp baking soda

  18. 1/2 tsp ground

  19. 1 beaten egg

  20. 1 1/2 tsp vanilla Miniature semisweet chocolate

  21. pieces Decorator Icing (see recipe)

  22. In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved.

  23. Pour into a large mixing bowl. Cool 5 minutes.

  24. Mix flour, cinnamon, ginger, soda and cloves. Add egg and vanilla to

  25. butter mixture; mix well. Add flour mixture; beat till well mixed.

  26. Divide dough in half. Cover; chill 2 hours or OVERNIGHT.

  27. 1-inch ball, one

  28. 3/4 inch ball,

  29. 1/2 inch balls, and five

  30. 1/4 inch balls.

  31. 1-inch ball to

  32. 1/2 inch for 3/4 inch ball for the head, and flatten to

  33. 1/2 inch balls for arms, legs, and ears. Place

  34. 1 of

  35. the 1/4 inch balls on the head for the nose. Arrange the remaining

  36. 1/4 inch balls atop the ends of the arms and legs for paws. Use

  37. miniature chocolate pieces for the eyes and navel.

  38. 350 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until done. Remove

  39. and cool on a wire rack.

  40. If desired, pipe on bow ties with Decorator Icing.
