  2. SEVEN LAYER SALAD

  6. 1/2 Head of Iceburg Lettuce

  7. - chopped 1 c Clery, chopped

  8. 1 c Green pepper, chopped

  9. 1 Med. onion, sliced or diced

  10. 1 Box (10 oz.) frozen peas

  11. 1 lb Bacon, fried and crumbled

  12. 5 Hard boiled eggs, sliced

  13. 2 c Mayonaise

  14. 2 tb Sugar

  15. 3 c Shredded Cheddar cheese

  16. Note: The name in the family recipe book is "Seven Layer Salad." Don't ask

  17. me why? It really isn't seven layers, but it has become my favorite. (BC)

  19. 9 X 9 pyrex pan

  20. a bed of chopped lettuce on the bottom, then lay down a layer of celery,

  21. then onion, then green peppersm then peas, then eggs. The order is really

  22. not that important, and they will nor really constitute a solid "layer."

  23. Then and another layer of lettuce and repeat the procedure.

  24. Mix mayonaise and sugar together and spread on top.

  25. Sprinkle bacon and cheddar cheese on top of the whole thing.

  26. Cover tightly and leave overnight in refrigerator, allowing mayonaise to

  27. permeate the whole thing.
