  2. 6 knackwurst

  3. 3 cups sauerkraut, rinse, drain

  4. 1 apple, peel, chop

  5. 1 teaspoon caraway seed

  6. 1 teaspoon sugar

  7. 1 cup beer or 1 cup white wine

  1. Combine all ingredients.

  2. Cover tightly in a large skillet.

  3. Simmer over low heat 15-20 minutes and serve.

  4. Can also be prepared in a crockpot, which is done most of the time.

  5. Ham hocks can be used and added also. Just strip most of the fat off.

  6. Serve with mashed potatoes.

  7. In crockpot it is about 6 hours cooking.
